Stockwood Air is a fictional UK-based fair-cost airline, situated at London Luton Airport.
Operating a fleet of mostly Boeing 737-800s, the Airbus A320-200 is a much less common airframe to see painted in the iconic Stockwood Air livery. Originally belonging to Monarch Airlines, G-ZBAS was operated under a wet-lease contract from its new owners throughout 2024 after the dissolution of Monarch Airlines in April 2021, and repainted in Stockwood Air's turqoise and purple colour scheme.
While Stockwood Air intends to move into an entirely Boeing and Embraer fleet, the now ageing Airbus A320-200s, most of which have now been returned to their owners following the termination of their wet-lease contracts, was commonly regarded by frequent travellers as more comfortable and enjoyable to fly aboard than the Boeing 737NG fleet.
This particular A320 was situated at London Luton Airport, coincidentally the home airport of Stockwood Air, and saw regular services to Zurich, Amsterdam, Geneva, Bilbao, Alicante, Glasgow and more.
