During WW2, betwen August and December 1944, the OSS (precursor to the CIA) ran a secret operation flying C-47s to rescue nearly 500 downed Allied airmen out of German-occupied Serbia, near the village of Pranjani. The original flight occured during the night, with crew on ground lighting the short ~2000ft makeshift runway with fire lanterns and burning bales of hay. To represent that I added lights for flying in at night. The succeeding flights were conducted during the day because it was deemed too risky at night.
In 2020 a memorial was constructed on the site.
It seems it does exist today as a real field with a code of LYPJ.
