The Alyeska Pipeline Service Company built the 400 mile "Haul Road" from Livengood, just north of Fairbanks, to the north slope oil fields at Prudhoe Bay. The pipeline parallels the road. Mostly gravel, the road was built to handle the hundreds of heavy construction vehicles that used it daily. They completed the road in 1974 in just 5 months. In 1979 the company gave the highway to the state of Alaska as a gift. Air strips were needed along the route to support the construction camps. Many of them are still in use today to help maintain what is now known as the Dalton Highway. Commercial truck traffic delivering supplies and fuel to the North Slope oil fields accounts for the majority of the traffic, although tourist traffic, including motorcyclists and cyclists, has been increasing steadily since the highway was opened to the public in 1994. This airstrip is also used as a base for guided hunting trips for Arctic caribou and wolves.
My choice is to fly the Dalton in a small bush plane with big tires.
Sagwon Airport is the 9th of the 10 airstrips along the Dalton Highway ending at Prudhoe Bay on the Arctic Ocean. Fellow sim developer, hatchettc182 has modified the 10th airport PASC - Deadhorse. Be sure to download that version as well.
This airport (SAG) was missing from the sim, but here it is:
Dimensions: 4000 x 120 feet / 1245 x 35 meters
Surface: Gravel in Fair Condition
Runway 19 Runway 01
Coordinates: 69.373880, -148.700178
Installation
Copy the tn-airport-sag-sagwon-airport folder inside of the zip file into your MSFS Community folder.
Many thanks to the creators of the Required and Recommended libraries. If you have not previously installed these libraries in your Community folder, some objects may not be visible in your sim. Remember, you only have to install these one time. Also, go to the sim marketplace and download the free UK2000 Scenery Common Library. All Microsoft World Updates should be installed also.
Bonus feature: An Easter Egg has been included the scenery. If you spot it, take a screenshot and "message" me.
Hallo 555tom55,
thank you very much for this airstrip. I remember the old times of the fsx, when I was flying along the Dalton Highway. There was an beautiful addon with the hole pipeline in 3D. Maybe someone will build this pipeline with all the pumpstations for the MSFS in the future.
Best wishes and allways happy landings from Germany. Willowfsx

I did not fly FSX, but what a great addon that would be. It's a bit above my skill level, but perhaps someone will pick up the challenge.
With Google Maps, Street View, you can actually see the entire Dalton Highway and the pipeline running next to it.

Hi, I read that all 10 airstrips (on Dalton Hwy) are now available but i can't find Prospect Creek and Deadhorse. Can you help me? Thanks

Both Prospect Creek (PAPR) and Deadhorse (PASC) are standard default Microsoft airports. You should be able to fly these Dalton highway airports. Let me know if you still have a problem.

Hey Tom
Thanks for this. Now you are getting revenge for my Easter eggs! I'll let you know as soon as I find it (them?)
