Cannes is a city located on the French Riviera. It is a commune located in the Alpes-Maritimes department, and host city of the annual Cannes Film Festival, Midem, and Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. The city is known for its association with the rich and famous, its luxury hotels and restaurants, and for several conferences.
The Promenade de la Croisette, or Boulevard de la Croisette, is a prominent road stretching along the shore of the Mediterranean Sea and is about 2 km long. The Croisette is known for the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, where the Cannes Film Festival is held. Many expensive shops, restaurants, and hotels (such as the Carlton, Majestic, JW Marriott Cannes, and Martinez) line the road. It goes completely along the coastline of Cannes.
The Croisette is listed in the cultural heritage general inventory of France.
This pack does not contain a full photogrammetry extract of the city but rather focuses on a few emblematic or massive buildings to keep acceptable size and performances for lower configurations.
It contains the following mods:
-Hôtel Barrière le Gray d'Albion, built in 1980
-Hôtel Carlton, built in 1911
-Hôtel Majestic, built between 1923 and 1926
-Hôtel Marriott, built in 1990
-Hôtel Martinez, built in 1929
-Mairie de Cannes, built in 1876
The pack also contains:
-Château de la Napoule: this is a restored French castle, located in Mandelieu-la-Napoule, a few kilometers west of Cannes. It has been classified as an historical landmark since 1993, and the gardens are listed by the French Ministry of Culture as among the Notable gardens of France. The castle was constructed in the 14th century by the Countess of Villeneuve. Over the centuries it was rebuilt several times and was turned into a glass factory during the 19th century. In 1918, it was purchased by Henry Clews Jr. and Marie Clews (1880–1959), who restored and moved into the castle. They created additional sections in their own personal style, with sculptures by Henry Clews Jr. The castle is owned by the La Napoule Art Foundation, which was founded in 1951 by Marie Clews, and serves as a cultural centre. After Henry's death and during the Second World War, the castle was captured by German soldiers. Marie Clews served the soldiers by acting as the maid of the castle's staff so she could stay close to her home and the memory of her husband. The castle comes with its own POI.
-Château de la Castre: the Place de la Castre is located at the top of the medieval streets of the old town of Cannes. It hosts the Notre-Dame-d'Espérance church and the Castre museum housed in the old medieval castle. The watchtower and the castle chapel form with the church a group classified as historical monuments by decree ofJuly 28, 1937.
-The Observatoire de Super-Cannes or Observatoire de la Californieis an observation tower erected in 1925 for the Société immobilière de Paris et du littoral then transformed in 1953 according to the plans of the Cannes architect Georges Sauvan at the top of the Californie massif.
Une nouvelle fois merci.
J'ai un problème d'exclude sur le versant E de la croix des gardes.Il n'y a plus d'arbres et le sol est couvert d'une nappe transparente.Le phénomène disparait quand je désactive la scène.
