LKKI is a fictional airport in the northwest part of Czech Republic. It is located right next to my hometown, Klášterec nad Ohří.
Runway is 550m long and 14m wide. Surface is little bit wavy, eastern part of the runway ends in a slight uphill. Plus, with all electricity poles and some trees around, it can be challenging for some airplanes, especially in windy conditions. Just don’t miss the beginning of the runway :-).
And why to fly to this little bit forgotten part of the Czech Republic?
- Perfect base for VFR flights to beautiful Ore and Doupov Mountains.
- VFR flights to extensive surface mines nearby (CZ Industrial Objects highly recommended).
- Strategic location close to big industrial zones, powerplants and surface mines calls for cargo missions.
- Short flights to LKKV or over the mountains to Germany.
- Flights over military training ground, which is located just few kilometers away in Doupov Mountains (Vojenský újezd Hradiště). Not exactly healthy in real life though :-).
Future plans:
- Challenging airstrips in Ore Mountains for some nice bush flying (main priority now).
- Probably more challenging airport overtime - runway will be probably a little bit shorter, bumpier etc.
- One more parking place for small GA. Have to figure out how to disable automatically generated ground crew first, which pop up when two parking places are available.
- Photogrammetry of Klášterec nad Ohří town and its vicinity, or at least some manual treatments for better experience (some simple changes around the airport are already done. Bigger changes will be in separate file, if there ever will be any).
- Bush trip around magical Ore Mountains and Doupov Mountains, surface mines, water dams and powerplants in the region.
It is my first airport, so it is basic and far from perfect. Feel free to leave a comment, feedback or some thoughts :-).
