There has been an update to v1.03 and all of my liveries and performance mod still work with the primary, unfaired variants, however there is an additional new model that they do not work with, but i am working on updates which will be available soon.
NOTE 1: With the recent update to version 1.3, a new aircraft catagory has been added to the Stearman. It now has an updated engine performance package more accuratly simulating the 9 cylinder WASP Engine, and adding the Engine Fairing, Chrome Spinner, and Wheel Fairings. Unfortunatly the Aerobatic Carburation was missed, so if you go inverted your engine will be starved of fuel and will spit an sputter. The Developer is aware of it, and it will be fixed in the next update. Until then, you can go into the engine.cfg file, in the DCDesigns_Stearman_Faired folder and change the Fuel Metering type to 2, then save the file. I have provided a picture of this... Make Sure you make a back-up of this file, incase you make an error.
NOTE 2: This is now a complete, stand alone drag and drop into your Community Folder Package. If you have the previous version installed, I would recommend you dig out your Original Engine.cfg files and reinstall them. If you are using an Addon Manager, this will allow your to turn this Mod on and Off if you want to fly the Original aircraft as realisticly as Possible, but when you want to have some exillerating fun, turn it on. It should also solve the issue that some folks are having that purchased this Aircraft package through the MSFS Market Place. I have no way of testing that, so any feedback would be appreciated!
Many Real Stearman owners around the world have installed 9 Cylinder Pratt & Whitney engines on their aircraft, for better aerobatic performance. While this Performance Pack MAY NOT BE TOTALLY ACCURATE, and the fact you have to imagine that big beast out front (for the time being) This mod has served me well during my painting and testing phazes. So I hope you will enjoy as well, especially if you are not familiar with changing things in files yet!
WARNING: Make sure you make a back-up of your oringinal engine.cfg files before installing these. And please note, IT WILL CHANGE PERFORMANCE OF ALL VARIANTS! So if you are a purist, this mod is not for you...
The Old way: To install, find the main aircraft folder of the DCDESIGNS STEARMAN, in your community folder. Find the two engine.cfg files and copy them to a Back-Up folder, then replace them with these two files. I have switched to an aerobatic Carborator Configuration, and changed the engine specs (as best I can) to emulate the 9 Cylinder Engine. I have not made any instrument changes so you will have to regulate the throttle, etc... as you see fit. I have my crash detection turned off, and I would recommend the same, unless you are a MASTER at paying attention to your gauges and aircraft sounds.
****Please Note: Depending on where you purchased The Aircraft Package, you may not be able access the engine.cfg files. It has been reporters that folks who have purchase this in the Marketplace, do not have access. Most Packages purchased through the Marketplace are placed in the OFFICIAL folder and not the Community folder, so please look for it there and see if the engine.cfg files are accessible to you.
Hi I purchased the Stearman through the marketplace and I can't find the engine cfg files

Unfortunately, as I stated in my write up, if purchase through the market place that file is un-accessible. I am working on a stand alone but still having issues so please stand by...

I was only able to find engines.cfg but not the engines1.cfg in ...\Community\dcdesigns-aircraft-stearman\SimObjects\Airplanes\DCDesigns_Stearman
Should the engines1.cfg be in the same folder? I did a scan of the whole drive and found no engines1.cfg file

Your perf mod works nicely, thanks again. With your Bee Keeper livery it's a real pleasure to fly the Stearman at the Viaduc de Garabit

My DCD Stearman has only one engine cfg file called "engines". I am removing only that one and putting in your two engine cfg's. Hope that works?

Yep....that works and it is gorgeous. What a marvelous difference. Makes the Stearman worth flying now. You have a six pack coming your way.

Thanks for this mod.
Now we really can do aerobatics.
In combination with your Bee Keeper livery, it makes a fantastic plane !

Perfect, with the +500RPM it`s now absolutely aerobatic usable. Without it, you always had to pay a lot of attention to the speed. Have seen the 9 cyl. version often in aerobatics, now it behaves comparable (even with only 7 cyl.)

Do you have the steam version or the regular MSFS2020, because in my directory there is no engine config file anywhere.

Sorry, I do not know anything about Steam Versions, or were there files are stored. May need to do some research to see if they are accessible.
