Western Airlines was a US-american airline based in Los Angeles. It operated mainly on domestic routes west of Mississippi river as well as international destinations in Canada; Hawaii and Mexico. In the early 1980s Western Airlines suffered severe financial problems but could aviod bunkruptcy by shortening its employees salary. In 1986 however Western was merged with Delta Air Lines becoming the forth biggest airline of the USA.
Western operated several different aircrafts including the Douglas DC-6. This livery is based on the Douglas DC-6B with registration N93126.

Thanks again for doing this one for us, alxcpt!!! It's a beautiful representation and I appreciate all of your skill and attention to detail. Wonderful!

Thank you, I'm glad you like it. As beautiful as the DC-6 is, as painful it is sometimes to get high res pictures or pictures at all. Modern airlines get shot from every perspective, for those western ones I only had one or two images. That was pretty hard.

Your liveries are very nice, therefore I can't use any of them because I hate the DC6 model you are using for your Western, the one with double windows at the back. I know it exist but doesn't look very nice and I never fly this one. Personnal choice. Good job anyway.

Well that's what Western used on the three registrations. I cannot change their choice. You may try to fly it though it's just the shorter nose and those double windows, a DC-6 still.
