"Aerobatics Model Library" is a pack of several aerobatics obstacles to be used freely by scenary creators.
=> A list of scenerys that use this library (I hope to be able to list a few that won't be made by myself at some point) :
- https://flightsim.to/file/33854/uk-aerobatics-mach-loop-scenery-flight-plan
Color code of obstacles lights:
yellow: non-collidable objects
purple: collidable object. Be careful!
red: go left
green: go right
Current specs of this library :
- "Scrapyard Obstacles": A collection of 8 x 2 obstacles (with and without collisions). Some objects are animated.
- "Killing Machines": A collection of 5 x 2 obstacles (with and without collisions). All of them are animated.
- "Know your colors": A static and non collidable board explaining the color codes of the various obstacles.
- A test scene where you will find all these obstacles already in place and you can have fun too: FTTB (Bangor Airport in Chad).
- All these items are highly detailed (modeling) and use rich PBR textures (made in Substance Painter).
- All the obstacles have phosphorescent and spot/area lights to improve darkness visibily.
- Any aerobatic plane fits in all obstacles (Extra 300, Cap 10, all Reno pack aircrafts, Gee Bee R3, Vertigo, etc.) and most jet fighters too (otherwise you can still scale the obstacles up!)
Future of this add-on :
- I will add effects (smoke, fire, sparks) to the "Killing Machines" collection.
- New collections will also be created... Probably on separated mods, to avoid asking people to download a heavy mod if there is only one collection used.
Quite addictive, good job, can't wait to see how this progresses, love it

Thank you LordFrites for your absolutely fantastic, freeware aerobatics library! Your attention to detail is amazing, I really like the moving parts (they have a Mario Kart vibe), and overall they add a lot of fun to the sim.
I am currently making my own challenging races in Hawaii using your props. (To those of you who played MS Flight c.2012, think of those initial races slaloming across Hilo Bay, and soaring up and down Waipio Valley; I am trying to recreate some of that nostaliga.)
Kudos again for your 5-star work! I was so fortunate to find your library; we don't have an official race-making SDK yet, so your props add a lot of replay value.

Thanks for all your kind messages (on the Pelican too ;) ).
I'm glad if you like these assets and I'd be happy to try your routes in Hawaii ! So don't forget to share the link here when it's done. I'll even add it in the library's description if you want.

What was the name of the file before the 0.4 update (0.3)?
Thanks

Yes, I went from 0.3 to 0.4 I'm not sure what file name you're talking about, but regarding versioning, that's it.

You clould become a Superhero, if you could add "something" to measure lap times. Like a "start gate" which logs the start time if you fly through it, an "finish gate", which logs the end time... lap time would be "end-time minus start-time" ... something alike.
It´s great to have cool aerobatics race tracks... but noone made timers so far, to reliably measure ones track times, which is essential for each and every race event or training session.
Could YOU be the one and only, to solve this?

Hum... Sorry, but I won't be this super hero you're looking for :)
It sounds way too complicated... It means you'd have to be able to define a path with checkpoints and a clear start and end point. This has nothing to do with 3D assets, it's a feature that would be cool to have in the SDK.
Especially now Asobo did that for the Reno Race, they should be able to give us the same tools. But I'm not sure it's their priority.
So... For now... I'm sorry, but I don't see any way to do this.

That looks great! But in which mod can I use it?

Soon, my friend, soon... 😏
Give me until Tuesday to share something great. And I hope many other scene creators will also use these assets to make crazy rides!
