Hello, McDreamies.
This is a makeover of RNAS Culdrose in Cornwall in conjunction with Skell300.
Dunno why the RAF still has so many air bases when the Navy only has two in one corner of the country, I don't like this at all, so I'll become PM so I can find out.
This is the largest helicopter base in Europe. There's also a UAV squadron, King Air Avengers, the Navy Hawks are hanging on by the skin of their teeth, there's a gliding club and plenty of interesting visitors too.
A large proportion of the buildings have been replaced with custom versions, all the ground textures have been told to bog off and been replaced, plenty of detail dolloped generously on top, a new taxi system for your flying needs with some hangars to start in, new ground markings that are closer to reality, no shortage of lighting but very little on the aprons as you should be in your NVGs, and the odd exciting static model is waiting to greet you.
Since it's the largest naval helicopter base for a long, long way it would be silly not to have some ships to land on, so there are a bunch to choose from.
There might the odd bit of elevation strangeness, the site went bonkers in development, but it should be usable all the same.
This could still use a fair bit more detail in places but I need to get down there with a very long lens before I can do that. In the meantime this will fill your naval hole.
To the brim.

Clears up the odd mistake. Improves a few ground markings and models. Removes some. Adds some.
Changes HMS Bulwark's route to a large loop closer to Culdrose. Starting coordinates are - 50.02714892367163, -5.40349167375980
Adds HMS Diamond to a larger group of ships heading out of Falmouth including the USS Wasp for your F35. This goes in a straight line for 30 or so miles and then respawns. Turning would be too upsetting. Starting coordinates are - 50.11503698653698, -4.97496740136348
Adds a cruise ship further up the coast that has been hijacked by a madman intent on impregnating everyone on it. It's your job to fly over there and stop him. Or join in. This is a loop. Starting coordinates are - 50.12755569233407, -4.62724736687866
And somewhere out towards France is a wee fella lost in a liferaft. I'm sure he'd like to see you. Might take some finding though.
You'll need to download the latest version of this - https://flightsim.to/file/27908/moving-boats-3d-model-library to see them. If you don't want this silliness then you can delete them in the Scenarii folder in the package.

Thank you for all your projects. MSFS has to have them. Odd question but Yeovilton uses your original Merlin. Is there an easy way to get it to reappear?
No. That model was pretty average so it got the boot and was replaced with several different versions.
Someone using models from another project has no control over them. If it's gone from the project they're tapping then it won't appear in theirs.
That's why I try not to use libraries I don't control, and deffo not other projects.
I will get around to Yeovilton myself at some point.

I just finished some tests with different aircraft.
Dino CATTANEO's F-35 is the device that remains stable on the deck of the Bulwark, with the UH -60 unlike the DC Designs Harrier and also the V-22.
A very nice scene with lively deck and runway staff.
I hope you will make the HMS Queen Elizabeth mobile version for the F-35B.
Thank you again wonderful!

There's a lot of very strange behaviour from various aircraft.
The Harrier is by the least usable which is a great shame. I guess it has so many custom tweaks that it'll never behave with a moving surface.
I've got plenty of moving carriers ready including both Queen Elizabeii but I need to figure out some extra functions like toolbars which I may never manage.

Thank you very much for this very nice achievement with this update.
HMS Dragon works well.
Just a remark would it be possible to have a version with the barriers lowered on the rear platform?
Thanks again.

Speaking from a position of total ignorance did you know Airfix just released their old 1/600 Ark Royal kit. Just scan it at the High st scanning shop and Bob's your Grannie.

Even if such a thing was possible, maybe it is, I expect the result would make you want to turn around and fly away until the fuel ran out. I'll plop something out eventually.

Just visited HMS Bulwark in that little french eggbeater and that is one fantastic ship model, easy to land on too. So here comes the begging bit. Could you please do a landable Ark Royal with rust stains and barnacles etc. ready for the DC Designs RN Phantom coming down the tracks as we speak. Million thanks.

I am looking at Ark Royal models at the moment. There's only one that really cuts it, I'm definitely not good enough to actually make one myself. It's for 3d printing I think so will take some time to adapt.
I've also done a CATOBAR version of HMS Prince of Wales so in the worst case scenario you may be stuck with that.
I'm still mangling many other models so it might be a while yet before a full blown carrier drop happens.

Great stuff chaps! I use this place a lot, oddly because I never made it there when I was a sea cadet ( despite going most other placesi in D&C )...
Don't suppose you managed to get a TACAN beacon on the ships?
Nope.
There's no way of navigating to moving ships that I know of. Regard them as pleasant ornaments. I think that'll need Asobo to change something.
Other people cleverer than me have done those toolbars that teleport you to starting positions on them. I don't got a clue how to do that yet.
I've got a ton of other ships ready to roll but I don't think there's any point putting more out until I can figure out how to make them more usable.

You guys are still the best, fantastic update. Wildcat and Merlin look the part. Yeovilton and Merryfield could do with some of your magic. That would complete the Navy airfields

Merryfield looks like a doss so I'll chip away at that occasionally. If I do another Yeovilton it won't be for quite some time. Lots of other tat to update first.

Another amazing scenery...undulating like it does...walked around the base alot when was younger and especially near main gate...really well done. Merlins look great especially the animated one. As im an older fart dont like the F35's much..would prefer a few jetstream T2's, wessex's and seakings.
Living overseas, youve really brought back some wonderful memories and thankyou for that.
Any chance you could model some of the remains of the tin mines littered around the county?
Well, technically they're not F35s, they're training dummies filled with water. I might even model some leaks some day.
A properly retro Culdrose would requre the old tower and there are hardly any pics of that but I might do something at some point.
As for tin mines I suggest you mention it here - https://flightsim.to/file/13918/west-cornwall-uk as it's soon to be updated
